Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDIEDRICH KLASSEN On January 24, 2000, Diedrich Klassen, age 83, of Winnipeg, formerly of Gretna, went to his heavenly home after a lengthy illness. During his rich and full life he was employed as a home builder and carpenter and worked at the Interprovincial Pipeline Co. in Gretna for many years and later as the lumber manager at the Sun Valley Co-op in Altona. At the same time he served as a school trustee, as a board member of the Gretna Credit Union and was active and faithful in the local church. He leaves to mourn Anne, his devoted wife of 55 years; three sons, Terrance and wife Esther Anne, Richard and wife Karin and their children, Evan and Deanna, Grant and wife Lois; daughter Debbie and her husband Ben and their children, Amber and Lindsey, all residing in Winnipeg. Viewing and devotional will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Home Street Mennonite Church, 318 Home St. in Winnipeg on Thursday, January 27. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Home Street Mennonite Church. Viewing prior to service. Interment at the Gretna Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. followed by an informal time of fellowship at Gretnas Seniors Center. Arrangements by Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, Man. 1-888-454-1030.
